As of 2012, Glasgow University of California had about 17000 students, including 1500 international students from more than 100 countries. Since 2002, the Software Engineering Laboratory of the school of engineering and computer, University of Glasgow and California has been conducting joint research projects with East China University of science and technology in Shanghai, China. Since then, the two universities have maintained research cooperation, exchanges between scholars and researchers, and jointly set up joint doctoral courses and organize academic conferences.
